“Something in the air this morning made me feel like flying. . . "

Tuesday, 5 February 2013

The skies have been blue, there are daffodils in my flat, I have bought some bulbs to plant and have summer smelling tomatoes in the fridge. Despite being a winter baby I am definitely a spring/early summer girl at heart. When the days are lighter longer, there's that smell in the air where perfume lingers and even if you live in the city you swear you can smell fields of flowers.

London is such a much nicer city when the weather is warmer. I can't wait to be able to use our little garden, spend days in parks and evenings in pubs. There's something so nostalgic about spring and summer. In my childhood memories it's always summer somehow. And this year Amelie will be toddling. I know we've a while to go yet but this mama is ready for sunshine. And if the weather's grotty this year like last, I may just spend it in Madeira.

Hope the sun's shining where you are today :)

  3. I thought exactly the same today when we were walking around Clapham. People were even having coffees outside!!

  4. I miss the sound of rain in the morning.
I look forward to Winter and rugging up. We've had a scorcher summer here in Australia with temps reaching 46 degrees some days! That was ridiculous.
I used to love Summer, but nothing beats warm pj's, my fire place and hot chocolate.

  5. Madiera sounds like a good plan if the summer is absent this year! I just bought some daffodils the other day too. Makes me happy to see them, even if it's freezing outside!

  6. Yes! I keep seeing little crocuses popping up - but then it felt so cold today. Sigh. Not long now! x
