Amelie's room tour!

Friday, 18 January 2013

I thought I'd take some photos of Amelie's room so she can look back when she's older and see how she (okay yes, I) styled her room as a bubba.

The trouble with renting is that you never really know how long you'll be staying somewhere and I wanted to record memories of her first room. Well we lived in another flat when she was born but she slept in our room then so I'm not counting that.

I made this little garland out of cupcake cases. Ridiculously easy and cute.

Antonio and I bought this bear in Brighton last year. We wanted it to be her special bear, the one she takes to university with her. She hasn't shown much interest in any of her cot toys though so this is probably going to be one of those mama dreams. We call him Mr Bean after the teddy that Mr Bean had in the programme. You remember?!

My mum bought Amelie this book for Christmas. It's all about a little mole who goes on a hunt to find out who pooed on his head. And it's got noises for various animals poo sounds. It doesn't get much better than this people it really doesn't.

So there we are Amelie darling, your first room. I'm looking forward to when you want to paint your walls red or purple and put up pictures of the next Justin Bieber.

And yes, of course I tidied before photographing. Normally everything is everywhere.

* I made those fabric hoops which you can see here if you like.*

  1. Such a sweet room!! We kept our girl's rooms with white walls for a while as well, then they wanted colour. My oldest is red. My youngest is still plain, so she can choose her colour as well :) It's so fun when they get attached to a colour & it becomes their favourite, they want everything in that colour!! Everything is red to my oldest, ha! xx

  2. I need the mole-poop book! I love her room, it's not like a Barbie threw up in there and it suits her personality - what I know of it - perfectly. Lovely! xxx

  4. Aww, lovely! I really should do this, we're in rented too and now Nellie is happily in her own room, we should document it while we can!
Love that bear also. I'm sure it will be very special to her in time.
    Have a great weekend! x

  6. I would never have thought of making cupcake case bunting, it looks brilliant! I'm sneakily stealing that idea ;)

A beautiful bedroom, the white walls really make the colours stand out.
